Welcome

Welcome to the official Web Site of the Monash 2010 Coalition of Learning Schools established in March 2004. This site also incorporates information regarding the Monash Schools Network and the various Innovation and Excellence Clusters within the City of Monash.

The Coalition comprises the nine state secondary colleges (that are also members of the Monash Schools Network) situated in the City of Monash in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, capital city of Victoria in Australia .

2010 is the year that the Victorian State government has designated as the target date by which 90% of students will successfully complete Year 12 or its equivalent.

Background

Following ongoing discussion and detailed research, the Regional Director Eastern Metropolitan Region (DE&T) convened meetings of the secondary college principals in late 2003 to consider the likely impact of probable demographic changes that forecast a significant downwards trend in the number of students entering schools over the next decade.

The principals accepted the Regional Director's invitation to form a coalition with significant financial and personnel support from DE&T. As a consequence the nine principals signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 18th March 04. A copy of this MOU can be accessed via the link to the left.

Mission

The Coalition is a community of learning schools with the following objective:
